Nets and Nutrients
Water connects us all, from the small ephemeral streams to the mighty Mississippi. Learn about
the water we have in our one backyard, what effects it, and then explore the creek yourself at the Nets and Nutrients event on June 6th starting at 10AM.
This program will have two sessions, and participants are not required to attend both sessions.
Session 1 will discuss the chemicals in the creek, projects being done at Prairie Creek, and citizen
scientist opportunities. This session will run until 11AM and is more geared towards adults. The second
session runs from 11:30-12:30 and will look at the bugs that live in our stream, what they indicate for
water quality, and then we will catch bugs ourselves!. This is geared towards all ages. Adults from the
first session are welcome to join, or catch bugs in between sessions with us.
This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required. For more information or to
register, contact Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or email
[email protected].
