Jackson County Walk to End Alzheimers
The Jackson County Walk to End Alzheimer’s is about more than one day—it’s about bringing our community together to raise awareness, inspire hope, and support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s and other dementias have touched so many lives. We all know someone—a parent, grandparent, spouse, sibling, friend, neighbor, or coworker—who has been impacted. That shared experience is what fuels our passion to advocate, educate, and raise funds for research, care, and support for those living with any form of dementia and their caregivers.
Each year, our committee designs a signature Walk T-shirt, which has become our biggest fundraiser. Shirts are available now for $20 each, and every purchase helps us move one step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s & other dementias while proudly showing support throughout our community.
This year’s Walk celebrates the power and pride of community. We’re excited to partner with the Maquoketa community walk to make this year’s event bigger than ever!
Join us Tuesday, October 6, at Glovik Park in Maquoketa.
Enjoy dinner at the Maquoketa Farmers Market food stand from 4:00–6:00 p.m., with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Our Walk program begins at 5:45 p.m.
The Walk steps off at 6:00 p.m., with two route options: a family-friendly route just over one mile or a 5K route for those looking for a longer walk.
You can register ahead of time or sign up on Walk Day—everyone is welcome!
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.
Since 1989, the Alzheimer’s Association mobilized millions of Americans in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® ; now the Alzheimer’s Association is continuing to lead the way with Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
