Awful Purdies with Simon Cropp-Maquoketa Summer Concert Series
| Awful Purdies, headlining at 6:15 pm. is a Folk-Americana collective of five multi-instrumental women who have been weaving stories, harmonies, and humor into the fabric of the Midwest music scene — strengthening the fabric of Eastern Iowa. “As they celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2026, they’re releasing 20 singles — collectively forming their fifth studio album — a love letter to where they’ve been and an invitation to where they’re going next.”
Opening at 5:30, Simon Cropp will be gifting us with his plainspoken storytelling, channeling classic country themes of love, heartbreak, and the landscapes he travels through. He’s a flatpick guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and country and bluegrass songwriter that you’ll remember from last year’s Slapdash Bluegrass show. Free admission. Bring lawn chairs. Food for purchase.
