The boil order for several residences in Maquoketa has been lifted.
The boil order went into effect after a fire hydrant replacement shut off water to the areas of Niles, Grant, Melrose, Longview, Oak and Vine Streets.
Effective immediately the water is determined to be safe and free of bacteria contamination.
