Maquoketa City Council meeting to feature presentation on youth e-vehicle safety

The Maquoketa Police Department, City Council, and School District are all collaborating to provide a ride smart vehicle safety program for local youth.

The ‘Ride Smart Maquoketa’ is a practical school based safety course for children aged 8-14 about proper riding on bicycles, E-bikes and E-vehicles. The program is aimed to inform the youth of the difference between these vehicles, how to drive them safely, and provide them a safe environment to practice these skills before going into the community.

Police Chief Brendan Zeimet and City Manager Josh Boldt will present an overview to the city council at the regular meeting this evening.

The meeting will be in the Maquoketa city hall’s council chambers starting at 6pm. A zoom link is also available for virtual attendance.
