Water shutoff schedule in Maquoketa Monday morning

Water will be shut off to several homes and buildings in Maquoketa next Monday, September 21st.

This is to allow for a fire hydrant replacement at the corner of Grant and Vine Street. The water will shut off around 8am and remain off until the replacement is made, estimated at around 8 hours of work.

Buildings in the 100 block of Grant Street, alongside Melrose, Vine, Niles, Longview, and Oak will all be affected by the shutoff.

After water has been restored, a precautionary boil order will go into effect for the listed areas. The order is expected to last around 48 hours after announcement.
