Maquoketa Public Library: summer reading wrap up and new learning kits for children

The Maquoketa Public Library wrapped up their summer reading program in July, and report close to 100 kids completing it. The Children’s Librarian Carolyn Proesch spoke about this year’s program that she organized and led for the summer.

While their summer program has ended, Proesch said that because of a grant from a local organization, she has been able to make early literacy kits to further engage children’s learning.

The literacy kits are available year round and can be checked out like a regular book from the library. The library also hosts several other activities throughout the year for both adults and children.
