Maquoketa hosts public session on historical building grant

Maquoketa is launching a new Historic Revitalization Grant Program, and the city wants the public to know about it.

The city will release applications later this week. City Manager Josh Boldt has more on the grant process and eligibility for applicants.

While this grant is available to many communities, each one has a different purpose and requirements. Maquoketa’s grant focuses on preserving and maintaining the city’s federally registered historical buildings.

Thursday’s meeting at City Hall starts at 6pm and will explain the program details and application process. Boldt encouraged all residents to attend the meeting, not just those who own historical buildings.
