Jackson County Fair ends strong despite Friday washout

The Jackson County Fair has come and gone, with attendance nearly matching last year’s numbers.

The weather was agreeable for most of the week, but heavy rain kept many fairgoers away on Friday. Despite some cancellations and early closures, many events still pushed forward in the rain.

Fairgrounds Manager Terri Selzer commented more on this year’s attendance.

Friday’s cancellations gave way to a strong Saturday, as thousands packed the fairgrounds for the live performance. Sunday also saw a great turnout for the Night of Destruction, ending the fair on a high note.

Teardown is ongoing at the fair, and prep work is already beginning for the event. You can listen to the full podcast by clicking here.
