Water shut off in select blocks in Maquoketa

Due to construction in the area, water will be shut off to some buildings in Maquoketa this morning.

The areas affected are 600-800 blocks of South Niagara, and 200-400 blocks of West Monroe. Connections to the water main in that area are being done, and officials estimate construction to take about 5 hours. Water is expected to be available at 1pm today, with possible low water pressure and discoloration.
