$5.7 million in grant funding received for Iron Bridge replacement project

Jackson County has received enough grant money to cover almost all of the costs for the replacement of the Iron Bridge itself.

The County Engineer Jayden Scheckel spoke about the grant process that took years to get to this point.

This project notably does not involve or cover any construction to the road itself, but rather the Iron Bridge that crosses the Maquoketa River.

While the exact cost is not known, 5.7 million dollars will almost certainly cover the expense of the bridge project, with construction expected to begin in 2027.
