Lucinda Mae Wood was born on April, 24, 1942, in Clinton County, Iowa, to Walter and Wilma (Bollinger) Wood. She graduated from Delmar High School with the Class of 1960. Lucinda was united in marriage to Garry Lee Jorgensen, on June 11, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Delmar.
“Cindy” worked for many years at Ensign Coil in Bellevue as a coil repair specialist. A gifted artist, Cindy loved to paint landscapes and draw animals, especially dogs. She was also a talented woodworker, making wooden Santa Claus’s, reindeer, and many Christmas and Easter decorations. Cindy would often be the driver for her husband Garry and her brother–in–law Jerry McCoy for their RAGBRAI adventures, along with finding their sleeping accommodations for the week. In the winters she loved to go snow skiing and summers were spent canoeing. Together they travelled the United States extensively, making it to all 50 states including to Alaska and Hawaii. Garry was the love of Cindy’s life. Cindy will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Lucinda is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister Rita Schmidt of Dewitt, IA; brother Loras Huilman of Cedar Rapids, IA; sisters–in–law Linda (Jerry) McCoy of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Helen Wood of Indiana; brothers–in–law Paul Petrik of Fairfax, IA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Garry Jorgensen, her parents, her step father Ted Huilman, her sisters Linda Puckett, Kathy Sawvell and Carolyn Kay Huilman (in infancy); her brothers Walter Wood, Charles Wood, and Teddie Joe Huilman; sisters–in–law Bonnie Petrik, Shirley Wood and Libby Huilman; and brothers–in–law Don Schmidt and John Sawvell.
