Maquoketa PD reports success with local food drive

The Maquoketa Police Department is reporting its first Arresting Hunger food drive a success.

Two officers and a co-responder were on site at Maquoketa’s Fareway store to collect non-perishable donations at the end of the week-long drive. According to the department, the community donated 453 pounds of food and more than $1,300.

The Maquoketa Police Department thanked the community for its support and says it looks forward to growing the event in the future.
