The Maquoketa Fire Department is hosting its 11th annual Fireball celebration at the Glovik Community Park.
The event has been held since its inception, but with the expanded space even more activities will be available. Firefighter Mark Beck discussed the history of the event when it started 11 years ago.
The gates open for the event at 5pm on Saturday July 11th. Two bands playing music are returning from last year by popular demand. This event is a fundraising event for the firefighters association, so there will be a 5 dollar admission fee.
