Michael Lee Flannery

Michael Lee Flannery, 68, of Oxford Junction, Iowa, passed away at his home on June 28, 2026.

Michael was born on October 3, 1957, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Charles Flannery and Marilyn (Thomas) Holly. He received his education in Illinois and worked for many years as a diesel mechanic.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed rock hunting, taking nature walks, spending time outdoors, and had a special love for animals. Most of all, Michael loved spending time with his family and treasured the moments he shared with them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Richard Flannery of Dubuque, Matthew (Mindy) Flannery of Oxford Junction, Iowa, and Kristina Flannery of Glasgow, Kentucky; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.

Michael will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his devotion to animals, and the time he shared with those he loved.
