KMAQ SPORTS: RESULTS from Tuesday 6/23

SOFTBALL-

Maquoketa split their dh with Beckman Catholic, losing game one in 9 innings 6-5 the coming back to win the night cap 5-3.

Easton Valley swept East Buchanan 7-6 and 15-3.

North Cedar was swept by Starmont 15-0 and 12-2.

Central DeWitt lost to Marion 5-3 and 7-6.

BASEBALL-

Calamus-Wheatland upset East Buchanan 9-6.

North Cedar fell to Starmont 15-0.

Marquette Catholic thumped Lisbon 14-1 and 13-0.

Central DeWitt lost two to Marion 6-2 and 10-0.

The Class 1A and 2A pairings were released yesterday afternoon by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. First round games will begin next Friday the 3rd.

In 1A-

The winner of Midland and Belle Plaine will face East Buchanan.

The winner of Calamus Wheatland and Easton Valley will take on North Linn.

North Cedar will play Lisbon in Delhi.

In 2A-

Northeast will  compete against Wilton in Durant with the winner facing Marquette Catholic.

Class 3A and 4A will be out next Tuesday, For softball 1A/2A and 3A will be released on Thursday with 4A and 5A next Thursday.
