Bellevue City Council meeting discusses Joe Young Museum

The Bellevue City Council held a meeting and work session Monday evening to discuss and tour the Joe Young Museum.

During the regular session, community members voiced support for preserving the museum and its historical significance to Jackson County.

One concern raised was the potential for the building’s demolition – though City Administrator Teresa Weinschenk clarified that demolition has never been considered.

Efforts are ongoing to have the museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places, though it was noted by one of the speakers that the process can be lengthy.
