KMAQ SPORTS: Results from Monday 6/22

BASEBALL-

Maquoketa dropped two to Northeast, 6-2 and 14-3 in 5 innings.

Marquette Catholic played North Linn in a Tri-Rivers Conference cross-division contest on the fourth night of the “If You Build it” High School Series at the This is Iowa Ballpark at the Field of Dreams near Dyersville.  The Class 1A 8th-ranked Lynx tallied 5 runs in the first two frames and never looked back as they took down the Defenders 6-1.

Easton Valley was swept by Lisbon 8-3 and 7-6.

North Cedar beat Clinton Prince of Peace 14-4 after falling 7-0.

Midland and Calamus-Wheatland split, with the Eagles claiming game one 3-2 and falling 6-2 in the nightcap.

Central DeWitt split with Davenport North. The Sabers won 4-2 before losing 1-0.

SOFTBALL-

No coverage area games last night. Tonight Maquoketa softball returns to River Valley Conference North side play with a 4-0 record sitting in first place ahead of their opponent as they travel to take on 6-2 Beckman Catholic in a make-up doubleheader.
