JC Fairgrounds 4H Dollar Barn project receives additional donations

The Jackson County Fair 4H food stand, also known as the Dollar Barn, has recently received donations from local groups.

ISU Extension Director Amber Matthiesen was on Just Talk two weeks ago with some of the students to promote their fundraising. Amber then mentioned today that some groups heard their need, and donated money to help cover their costs to reduce the amount taken from the endowment fund.

With the donations received in the past two weeks, they are just $4,000 short of having the building costs completely funded through donations and grants. Construction is ongoing with the building, with the goal to have it finished within the next two weeks.

Amber thanked all the groups and individuals who have donated, and to KMAQ for helping to spread awareness.
