A free meal for veterans and their spouses will be provided today in Maquoketa.
The event is being organized by several veterans groups in the area to ensure that all veterans are eligible and provided for. VFW member Terry Creegan spoke more about the dinner and what veterans and their spouses can expect.
The meal is completely open to not just Jackson County veterans but also some of the surrounding communities and townships. A variety of resources will also be available to those who are present.
The meal will start at 4:30pm this evening at the Together We Build Outreach Center next to the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
