Moore Local receives state grant to increase production capabilities

Moore Local in Maquoketa was named as one of the 11 Iowa businesses to receive a Dairy Innovation Grant to expand their operations.
KMAQ reached out to Heather Moore for additional information on what the grant would be used for. The amount awarded to them was $14,643.03 for an increase in their transportation capabilities.
Heather stated that the biggest bottleneck for their production is the transportation of the milk from their farm to their creamery. As of now they are utilizing a third party for transport which only allows for a small portion of their milk to be utilized in house.
The grant would be used to purchase equipment to allow for an increase in the amount transported, processed, and available to their customers. The end goal is for them to have everything done in house, with this grant marking a big step towards that goal.
