A Maquoketa man was arrested yesterday for domestic abuse assault.
40-year-old Vernon Allen is accused of assaulting his partner on Sunday June 7th during a verbal argument.
According to reports, Allen became angry before striking and assaulting his partner, leaving visible bruising on them. Vernon was arrested by Maquoketa officers and transported to the Jackson County Jail.
He is charged with his 2nd offence of domestic abuse, with a previous conviction on his record from October of last year.
