All 13 precincts in Jackson County are reporting for the primary, and while the results remain unofficial until confirmed the winners have been decided.
The only county position that was contested for the Republican nomination was for County Supervisor. Joe Kettmann won the nomination for County Supervisor, beating out Nin Flagel. The final count is 794 votes for Kettmann and 590 votes for Flagel.
All other positions were unopposed, with Don Schwenker winning the nomination for his County Supervisor seat, Beth Gerlach won the nomination for County Treasurer, Jennifer Jones won the nomination for County Recorder, and John Kies won the nomination for County Attorney.
No Democratic candidates were up for nomination at the county level.
Election results are certified by government officials after review to ensure their accuracy and validity, after which they are deemed official. The process of verification varies from state to state with Iowa’s usually occurring within a 1 month period.
