KMAQ SPORTS: Results from Tuesday 6/2

SOFTBALL-

Maquoketa was swept by Marion 14-1 in 4 innings and 11-1 in 5innings.

Midland was defeated by Camanche 13-6.

Northeast beat Wilton 11-9.

BASEBALL-

Maquoketa lost to 2nd-ranked Marion 16-4 in 4 innings and 7-1.

Easton Valley beat Monticello 4-2.

Northeast was roughed up by Clinton 18-8.

GIRLS SOCCER-

In postseason regional semifinal play:

Maquoketa had their season come to a close after being edged by Vinton-Shellsburg 4-3 in overtime.

Central DeWitt snuck past Independence 1-0.

BOYS TENNIS-

At the state tournament in Pella.

Class 1A-

The 5-seed Central DeWitt came back to upset #4 Decorah 5-4 in their quarterfinal match then fell to the top team  Dubuque Wahlert Catholic 5-0 in the semifinals. The Sabers will face #3 Sergeant Bluff-Luton at 9am this morning for the 3rd place match.
