Jail updates from Jackson County Sheriff’s Office

Despite a recent drop in inmate housing, the Jackson County Sheriff’s office has seen an increase in arrests as the summer starts. Jail Administrator Andrew Long spoke about the difference in amount being arrested vs staying in jail.
As Officer Long said, the severity of crimes committed in the summer months tend to be less severe despite the volumes of crimes increasing. The jail has operated at full capacity or near it since it was constructed and opened last year.
