KMAQ SPORTS: Results from Monday 6/1

SOFTBALL-

Maquoketa doubled up Marquette Catholic inside the Jack Marlowe Athletic Complex, winning 8-7 and 13-1 in 4 innings. The Cardinals will be back in action at home tonight hosting another non-conference doubleheader as Marion comes to town. All the coverage on 95.1 FM with Sports Director Jon Swisher starting around 4:50pm.

Calamus-Wheatland split with Springville, winning 12-2 and falling 10-9.

Central DeWitt was shutout by Dubuque Wahlert Catholic 10-0.

BASEBALL-

Maquoketa fell to Maquoketa Valley 10-6 on the road in Delhi. The Cards return home tonight to face Marion. Dale and Kaiden Scott will have the call on 1320 Am and 92.5 FM at 4:50pm.

Calamus-Wheatland defeated Springville 8-5.

Central DeWitt lost two to Clinton 3-2 and 5-0.

GIRLS SOCCER-

Regional semifinals take place tonight with 7pm first kicks, the winners advance to regional finals on Thursday night.

In 1A-

Maquoketa heads to Vinton to face Vinton-Shellsburg in Region 3.

In 2A-

Region 1 has Central DeWitt hosting Independence.

BOYS TENNIS-

At the State team tournament in Class 1A, the coverage area is represented by Central DeWitt at the Pella Tennis Courts inside Caldwell Park. Play begins at 9am as the Sabers will face Decorah in the first round with the winner moving on to a match at Noon against the Dubuque Wahlert Catholic/Shenandoah winner. Central DeWitt’s squad consists of Hudson Krukow, Ashton Schneider, Max Froeschle, Noah Erickson, Tysen Steffens, Dawson Petsche and Kyle Olson. GIRLS & BOYS GOLF-

The 2nd annual Iowa High School Golf Showcase will held at the Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown today starting at 9am.  The Showcase put on by the Johnston Golf Foundation features 96 of the best golfers in the state, 48 girls and 48 boys.
