Fire at Dubuque landfill under investigation

A large fire broke out at the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Landfill yesterday morning.

The Dubuque Fire Department released a statement while crews were on scene battling the fire. Fire crews arrived at the landfill at 7:31am, with aid being provided by the Asbury and Peosta fire departments.

Crews had the fire under control at 9am and remained on scene to put out hotspots and investigate the area. No injuries were reported from the incident and no cause of the fire has been found or released.
