KMAQ SPORTS: RESULTS from Wednesday 5/27

BASEBALL-

Maquoketa dropped two to Clinton on the road, losing 13-0 and 4-0. Tonight the Cardinals return home to start up River Valley Conference play as they will entertain Anamosa. All the coverage for the first time of the new season can be heard on 1320 AM, 92.5 and the stream at kmaq.com and the KMAQ App with Dale and Kaiden Scott on the call beginning at 4:50pm

Marquette Catholic snuck past Cascade 4-3.

SOFTBALL-

Tonight the Cardinals will also be at home inside the Marlowe Athletic Complex to entertain Anamosa. Sports Director Jon Swisher will have the action on 95.1 FM at 4:50pm

BOYS SOCCER-

Second round postseason contests took place:

Maquoketa’s season was ended by West Liberty on the road 7-2.

Marquette Catholic was edged by West Branch 3-2.

GIRLS SOCCER-

Regional Quarterfinal s tonight starting at 7pm:

Maquoketa will be hosting Williamsburg in Class 1A Region 3 on Goodenow Field.

Bellevue travels to Dyersville to face Beckman Catholic.

GIRLS GOLF-

State Tournament Meets begin this morning with first swings at 9am.

In Class 1A at the Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone, Easton Valley competing as a team and Natalie Schroeder of Calamus-Wheatland.

BOYS TENNIS-

The Class 1A Doubles State Tournament began yesterday with Central DeWitt’s Max Froeschle and Ashton Schneider competing at Byrnes Park in Waterloo. The duo won two out of their three matches and will play this morning in a consolation contest.
