History of the Andrew AMVETS Memorial Day Service

The Andrew AMVETS Memorial Day Service at the Cemetery has been a tradition for at least 80 years.
Gloria Jorgenson with the Daughters of the American Revolution talked about her memories of going to the event when she was a child in the 1940s. She said that with this year marking the 250th of the United States, continuing this tradition is even more important.
The program will start at 10am and last until 2pm, starting in the Andrew school gym before moving over to the cemetery. Chairs will be available to those who need them and the public is encouraged to attend the event for as long as they are able, and are not required to stay for the entire duration.
More information on the history of this event and what to expect can be found in the full interview here.
