Fire at Dubuque park deemed suspicious

A fire occurred at Comiskey Park in Dubuque yesterday morning.

Just before 9:30am the Dubuque Fire Department responded to the park from a fire alarm alert. Upon arrival fire crews found smoke and fire in the bathrooms of the park building and began fire fighting efforts.

The fire was extinguished by 9:45am and the damage did not extend past the bathrooms. No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire does appear to be suspicious, having caused just under $20,000 dollars in damages.

The investigation is being led by the Dubuque Fire Department.
