Grassley comments on rising operating costs for Iowa farmers

Today KMAQ had the chance to speak with U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley and ask him questions directly.

As the planting season is well underway and the cost of fuel and fertilizer continues to rise, I asked him what is being done to address the increase of operating costs that farmers are facing.

Sen. Grassley has maintained his stance against the tariffs on fertilizer since they were first announced and enforced. He stated that the cost of farm operations is an issue he heard throughout every stop in Iowa, and one that he said he and the Ag. Commission will be addressing during their meeting this afternoon.
