Progress made towards reopening of the Jackson County Senior Center
The Jackson County Senior Center, which has been closed from damage caused to the building, is making progress towards repairs and reopening.
The process had stalled in the insurance claim phase, as according to Lucinda Schwanker and Linda Sieverding, the claims adjuster was unable to be reached.
The role of the adjuster is the start of the whole process, as that determines what will be able to be purchased with insurance funds. If it never progresses past the adjustor, the entire process stalls.
With a new adjuster working on the insurance claim, things are starting to move closer to reopening.
More information on the progress with the center itself, as well as the many events still being organized by the members, can be found here.
