City of Bellevue’s budget sees lower tax levy

The Bellevue City Council passed their budget resolution yesterday evening, lowering the overall tax levy.

According to the City Administrator Teresa Weinschenk, the city council was able to maintain their current expenses while also slightly lowering the tax levy.

Maintaining the status quo while also being able to lower the levy is something that Teresa said they worked hard to do, and were also lucky to have that chance.

One of the biggest issues the council faced was being able to maintain the benefits and healthcare of the city’s employees. As Teresa said that was the topic many work sessions were focusing on to preserve.
