The name of the driver of the vehicle that crashed into a building and caused a fire near DeWitt yesterday afternoon has been released.
Just after 4pm, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a vehicle collision into a residential building on 190th St. After the vehicle crashed into the residence it caught fire which then spread throughout the building.
The driver and only occupant, 46-year-old Trisha Lynn Brookins of Dubuque, wasn’t able to leave the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported from the fire.
The investigation into the case is being done by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
