Saturday, April 18th the Maquoketa Speedway located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds will open the 2026 racing season with a first time ever racing event on the 1/4 mile dirt track. The wild and wooly 410 Sprint cars of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car Series will fly around the track. This inaugural event will be sure to provide an action packed night of 900 horsepower on display as a new track record will most likely be set. In addition to the Sprint Cars the opening night of point racing will be held in the IMCA  Stock Car, Sportmod and Hobby Stock classes. The opening nights races will be sponsored by our good friends at Eastern Iowa Door, grandstands will open at 4 pm with hot laps slated to take the green flag at 5:30 pm with racing to follow.
Race Fans are encouraged to make their way to the east end of Maquoketa early on Saturday and stop by Timber Lanes,  a Pre Race Party and car show will be happening at Timber Lanes from Noon until 3 pm. Timber Lanes will be having specials for the fans and several drivers will be on hand with their shiny new cars ready to hit the track.
