Midwest Legacy Beef enters into agreement with City of Maquoketa

Midwest Legacy Beef has made a deal with the City of Maquoketa to build and expand their operations in the area.
The business suffered a devastating fire at the beginning of March that destroyed many of their buildings and capabilities. Following the fire, the owner reached out to the City Manager Josh Boldt to inquire about establishing a working facility within the city.
The owners of Midwest Legacy Beef are rebuilding their La Motte location as insurance requires them too. The owners also asked the city for a 100-thousand dollar loan, tying their own assets as collateral for the loan.
The improvements made to the location of their operations at 1702 E Maple St will also add a minimum of 500-thousand dollars in property value, boosting taxes collected and jobs available to the area.
The expansion in Maquoketa will allow for their business to stay competitive while they rebuild in La Motte, and will stay as an expansion to their business afterwards.
