Arlene Green

Arlene Green, 95, of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Maggie’s House, with her family by her side.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, rural Calamus, the Rev. Leah Holloway-Nilson officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.

Arlene Clarice Ruth Malmanger was born January 22, 1931, to Raymond and Clara (Iverson) Malmanger in rural Grand Mound, Iowa. After attending Foss Country School, she graduated from Clinton County Rural Schools in 1944 and graduated from Grand Mound High School in 1948. Following graduation she worked at Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in DeWitt. She was united in marriage to Harold Green on September 14, 1956, at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. The couple farmed on the family farm south of Grand Mound. Harold preceded her in death September 2014.

Arlene was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Kvindherred Lutheran Church, Calamus, Iowa. She was a member of the Lydia Church Circle and longtime member of the Friday Study Club.

Surviving are her eight children, Kurt Green of DeWitt, Gisele (Luther) Pohlmann of Sunset, South Carolina, Brice (Ann) Green of Madrid, Craig (Myra) Green of Stallings, North Carolina, Marcia (Steve) Koester of Gladbrook, Seth Green of Central City, Deborah Green of Marion, Neal (Becky) Green of DeWitt; twelve grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Frances Burke and Sister Ida Green; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kay Kellar Green, a sister, Gertrude (Wesley) Wieck, and two brothers, Edward (Marilyn) Malmanger and Kenneth (Malinda) Malmanger.
