Library and Friends group provide many community programs

The Maquoketa Public Library and the Friends group work together to provide all the services offered to the community.

The Friends group allows for funding to be raised and also aid in the development and implementation of various programs. The library director Katy Pauls and Friends director Rosie Knoebel spoke more about the collaboration on Just Talk.

On such program is the Summer Reading events. While it is geared towards children, there is also an adult version that facilitates reading for grown-ups.

The funds raised for the library have allowed for the purchasing of equipment that allows for better service to the community. Some of the services provided are faxing, printing, and even digitization of photographs.
