CO2 leak in Clinton restaurant

Yesterday there was a CO2 leak in a Clinton restaurant.
At around noon the Clinton Police Department received a report of a structure fire located at 2595 Lincoln Way. When fire crews arrived, they determined it was a CO2 leak and not a fire. The leak occurred when a CO₂ system was being filled, during which a vapor release hose ruptured.
The break caused the gas to fill into the building triggering a CO2 alarm. Once ensuring the building was fully evacuated, fire crews ventilated the building while monitoring air levels to ensure safety.
The building affected is and will remain closed until the necessary repairs are completed.
Information collected from the press release made by the Clinton Fire Department.
