Nippy 50 at Maquoketa Speedway canceled due to rain and severe weather threat

The Nippy 50 at the Maquoketa Speedway for this weekend has been canceled due to the weather forecast.

The decision was not made lightly, but following deliberation, the Nippy 50 race has been canceled. Because of the 90-100% forecast of rain for the next several days, the MARS Late Model Championship race will not be coming to the area.

Due to the already packed schedule of the MARS Championship and many other Super Late Model specials, the Nippy 50 will not be rescheduled. The opening of the MARS Late Model Championship will now begin at the Hawkeye Land 40 at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, on Thursday April 16th.

The Nippy 50 will be returning to the Maquoketa Speedway in 2027.
