Mary Jane Morehead

Our dear Mary Jane (Goodall) Morehead has been called to Heaven on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at HealthPark Hospital in Fort Myers, FL due to complications with renal failure, Stage III lymphoma and a weak heart while living with dementia. At 83 years of age and recently having celebrated 63 years married to her only love Leonard she left us peacefully while asleep. She will be forever missed.
Mary Jane was born and raised in Maquoketa Iowa. She married Leonard Feb 2, 1963 at Sacred Heart and she remained strong in her catholic faith all of her life. Mary Jane, Leonard and the family eventually settled in SW Florida where she proudly represented the property management industry in multi family and residential property management and creating some of her fondest lifetime friendships for +20 years before retiring and since then she and Leonard have enjoyed her last years in the Florida sunshine. She will be remembered for her kindness, her welcoming smile, always being happy, she was a proud football coach’s wife, an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, a fan of anything involving Johnny Cash, Elvis or Caitlin Clark.
She is survived by her devoted husband Leonard Morehead. Sons Len and Mik, daughter Jodi, son-in-law Rex, four grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Tom (JoAnn) Goodall of Eldridge IA, Jim Goodall of Frostproof FL, Jane (Pat) Goodall of Cedar Rapids IA, Bob (Nancy) Goodall of Topeka KS and Brother-in-law Terry (Tanya) Morehead of Seabeck WA, along with cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and she was honorary grandmother to Katrina, Andy and Ryan in South Florida.
Preceded in death by her son Marc, brother Pat, brother-in-law (Larry Specht), sisters-in-law (Karen Specht and Shelley Tharp) and her parents (Francis and Mildred Goodall). No service has been arranged at this time.
