Arrest made on federal warrant in DeWitt

There was a federal warrant served to a wanted individual in DeWitt yesterday afternoon.

According to the press release, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and DeWitt Police Department were contacted yesterday morning by the U.S. Marshall’s Office for a person with a federal warrant they believed was in DeWitt.

Following a quick investigation, a search warrant was obtained for an apartment at 1301 13th street. During the search of the apartment, the suspect Clyde T. Bell was found inside and arrested without incident.

The federal warrant for Bell’s arrest was for “Illegal Possession of a Machinegun.”
