Structure fire destroys house and garage in Clinton County

A structure fire occurred in Clinton County on Saturday March 14th.

Just before 2:30am on Saturday the Clinton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 731 West Deer Creek Road. When fire crews arrived on scene they found a residential building and garage already collapsing due to the size and severity of the fire.

No hydrants were available on scene, with water being shuttled by various tankers. Crews remained on scene for several hours putting out hot spots and investigating the area. No cause of the fire is known at this time, and no injuries were reported. The buildings were deemed a total loss.

The Clinton Fire Department was assisted on scene by Clinton County Communications, Clinton Police, Fulton Fire, and Alliant Energy.
