Bridge construction update in Jackson County

Construction on Chenelworth Bridge is progressing well, and as such the road is closed to allow for the construction.

Weather conditions however can delay construction timelines, and extend the duration of the road closure. County Supervisor Nin Flagel spoke about bridges, how much they cost, as well as another bridge in need of replacement after Chenelworth is completed.

Jackson County has over 100 bridges across the area, all of which require inspections, maintenance, repairs, and eventually replacements. The choice to replace a bridge is also not a light one, as they can get expensive quickly. As such they only make closures when needed, and ask that any weight restrictions on bridges be obeyed to avoid closures for repairs in the future.
