Betty J. Busch

Betty J. Busch, 98, of Camanche, passed away, Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Wheatland Manor – Wheatland, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Her granddaughter, Lori Roling, will be leading the celebration of Betty’s life. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Hudson, Craig Benadom, Curtis Benadom, Terry Roling, Shane Beedle, and Perry Beedle. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Betty Jane Koepping was born on May 20, 1927, in Osburn, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Beatrice (Knochenmus) Koepping. She attended Hillsdale High School.

Betty married Lloyd Busch in 1950. They later divorced. Born to their union was their daughter, Marlene. They also welcomed a bonus daughter, that she raised as her own, Sharon Koepping. Sharon was the daughter of Betty’s sister, Marilyn. Betty farmed with her husband during their marriage. She also worked as a waitress at the Plaza café in Clinton, at the Hi Ho in Maquoketa and worked at Nielsens Clearing House in Clinton for many years, before her retirement. She had an amazing personality and never met a stranger or had a harsh word for anyone. She had a love of music and enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, the accordion and harmonica. Betty had a great appetite. She loved going out to eat with family. She had a passion for buffets and all you can eat smorgasbords. She was loved and adored by many.

Betty is survived by two daughters: Marlene Dow of Nebraska, Sharon (Alan) Miller of Camanche, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Jeremy (Ginger) Schoop, Jamie (Molly) Schoop, Lori (Terry) Roling, Lisa (Rich) Hudson, Perry Beedle, Sherry (John Swails) Brix, and Shane (Janet Carr) Beedle; eight great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, 3 step great-great grandchildren, and five step great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Marilyn and Marcella and her brother: Curtis.

Memorials can be made to the Wheatland Manor Activities Department.
