Terrarium making event next Friday at Hurstville Interpretive Center

If you want to have plants but may not have too much room for them, the Jackson County Conservationist will be having a terrarium making class.

A terrarium is essentially an ecosystem in a jar able to reflect larger biomes within the container. Conservationist Julia Rodewald gave an excellent summary of the event when she was on Just Talk.

If you’re interested in making your own mini-ecosystem, then make sure to register by this Tuesday the 10th. The cost for the event will be 10 dollars and you get to keep the jar you make. This class can only fit 15 people so make sure to register before it fills up.
