New YMCA Programs Director talks about plans for improvement

The Maquoketa YMCA Director Scott Warren introduced the new Programs Director Lance Richardson this morning on Just Talk.

Three weeks ago Richardson stepped into this role and he spoke about what he is wanting to do to strengthen the Y and its role in the community. He started off by speaking about improvements he thinks can be made to youth and athletic programs.

This is at the core of what Richardson is wanting to accomplish. What steps are needed to achieve that goal is still being worked out and planned, but the end goal is a strengthening of the programs provided to help better the entire community.

While student and youth programs were talked about, the general population’s health and wellness is also a core value of the YMCA’s mission.

Richardson is excited to get involved in all the plans and programs he can to help towards both of these goals.
