Structure fire near Calamus damages multiple buildings

A structure fire occurred outside Calamus just this morning.
Just before 9am this morning the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fire at 178th Avenue for the fire.
Upon arrival it was confirmed that everyone was safe from the fire and no injuries were reported. The fire appears to have originated from a garage before spreading to a barn and residential house, all of which have sustained major damage.
As of 11am the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is still on scene with the Calamus, Wheatland, Grand Mound, and Donahue Fire Departments, The Clinton Secondary Road Department, and the American Red Cross.
The investigation is still active and ongoing into the situation.
