Driver arrested for OWI after hitting a house in Maquoketa

Early yesterday morning a car hit a house in Maquoketa.

The car was leaving the Casey’s on East Platt Street shortly after midnight when it went over the curb and struck a house across the street. When police arrived on scene they found two people in the car who were uninjured, and the residents of the home that was struck were also uninjured.

The driver refused all field sobriety tests, but consented to a preliminary breathalyzer test, blowing a BAC of .26.

They were then arrested for and charged with 2nd offence OWI.
