Iowa AG concludes officers use of lethal force was justified in a Dubuque shooting

The Iowa Attorney General’s Office has concluded that a Dubuque police officer acted with legal justification in a Dubuque shooting.
On January 4th, Officer Austin Manders was patrolling in the area when he saw a group of men fighting outside of the Odd Fellows Bar. Before police could intervene, one of the men fighting shot the other. Officer Manders then fired at the shooter later identified as Jai Ondrick Quin-Charles Lovely.
Both Lovely and the victim, Cory Michael Wilson, were transported to a hospital but died from their injuries.
The evidence collected and investigation into the incident provide evidence and justification into the officers use of deadly force.
